"In 1994 there was an incident
involving the paddling of several boys. School procedure was followed
and the principal was present for the disciplinary action. One of
the boys' father claimed that I "abused" his boy. He was
able to get a warrant for my arrest. I contacted CEAI and they helped
me secure two attorneys through the professional liability insurance
company. The false charges were dismissed. Yet, he continued to harass
me. Another warrant was issued for my arrest. Even though I had followed
procedure and with approval of my principal, due to all the negative
publicity my superintendent refused to back me. Thank goodness for
CEAI! I had to appear before the school board and I won the case.
The judge also threw the case out of court! I cannot thank CEAI for
being there for me!
