UNIONISM AND THE CHRISTIAN TEACHER

GOALS

CHRISTIAN EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL (CEAI) does not take a position for or against teacher unions. While CEAI opposes numerous planks in the union political platform, it encourages teachers to make a prayerful and informed personal decision regarding union participation. Since a leading reason why educators join their local NEA or AFT chapter is to secure professional liability insurance, CEAI is pleased to provide highly affordable alternative coverage. Those who decide to forego union membership are encouraged to demonstrate exemplary Christian behavior toward those they oppose. Those who retain union membership are urged to fulfill their God-given role as "salt and light" in a secular society. As an organization committed to providing a forum on educational issues and articulating a Christian world view in that dialogue, CEAI seeks to serve union and non-union educators. We are passionately committed to:

Presenting the Judeo-Christian perspective in the educational arena, offering counseling on a broad range of educational matters, and representing the concerns of Christian public school teachers to political, governmental and community leaders.
