  Quick Starts for Educators
How educators can minister to public schools

Educators on public school campuses have a heart committed to serve students, fellow teachers and the school's staff. This quick start will provide several specific ways that you can serve.

Educators who Pray, Care and Share make a difference! Quick Starts for Educators

PRAY:

  • Spend time in your personal prayer time praying for each student and co-worker on your campus.
  • Ask other Christians to assist you in praying for the pre-Christians the Lord has laid on your heart.
  • Ask those you are praying for and with if there are any specific needs or requests that you can be praying about for them. Follow-up by asking about any changes that have taken place since you began praying for them.
  • Commit to organize a prayer group for educators on your school campus.

CARE:

  • Send a note of encouragement, appreciation, your friendship, etc. Put it into the teacher or staff mail box. Watch for encouraging articles that relate to the staff person and send to them.
  • Send cards or notes on special days (birthdays, special family days, etc.).
  • Give gifts of encouraging books, audio tapes, etc. regarding education.
  • Invite the pre-Christians you adopted to attend a church musical or special non-threatening activity.

SHARE:

  • Explain the importance of Jesus in your life as an educator.
  • Relate your commitment to balancing your spiritual life and job in education.
  • Share your dependence on Jesus in the school setting.
  • Communicate your desire that they consider searching for spiritual understanding.
