Declare September as IAM4Schools Month in your city!

It is a call to all concerned citizens to accept responsibility and take action towards the goal of excellence in education through out public school community. Using our God-given talents and resources along with faith-based values, we will encourage, support and serve the public school community in a variety of Constitutionally appropriate ways.

THE COALITION OF PUBLIC SCHOOL MINISTRIES CHALLENGES YOU TO GET INVOLVED!

"Our conviction says we will not rest until every child of every race knows the pride and promise of learning... My priorities are to bring local control, high standards, and character education to our public schools. "
Pres. George W. Bush

Recently, Education Secretary Rod Paige spoke about the necessity of addressing what he called, "President Bush's number one priority, the problem of our education system not performing at a level adequate to sustain our nation's global leadership." Paige continued, "Look at the evidence. Two-thirds of American fourth-graders cannot read at grade level. Our students rank poorly among industrialized nations on international math and science tests. Almost two thirds of low-income eighth-graders cannot multiply or divide two-digit numbers. Our education failures are a public heath problem, an economic problem and a national security problem. The work force, leaders, and decision-makers of tomorrow are sitting in our school classrooms today. To be successful these students will need to be educated, responsible and moral citizens."

Educators across the Unitd States are commited to the vital roles they play in these student's lives, but it is our responbility to partner with them as parents, churches, and concerned communities to assist them in equipping every student. As individuals and communities, we must demonstrate to our student show much we value them if we hope that they will value us in the future.

Secretary Paige is challenging us by saying, "The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, is the first step, and the President has called on the whole ocuntry to take up the challenge. Our community must answer the call."

Therefore the Coalition of Public School Ministries has declared September 2004, the "I AM 4 SCHOOLS - Month."
