Quick Starts for Parents
How parents can minister to public schools.

PARENTS WHO PRAY, CARE AND SHARE MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
The following suggestions are constitutionally appropriate ways in which I can serve public schools

PRAY:

  • Pray personally for how you can be used of God in local schools.
  • Recruit a few other parents to pray with you.
  • Ask your child's educators how you can specifically pray for them.
  • Yield to how God may use you to care for and share the Gospel with people in your local schools.

CARE:

  • Chat with and get to know those for whom you are praying.
  • Ask what you can do to help the school/educator solve a problem
  • Seek community parents and resources to find solutions or to help with issues.
  • Relieve a teacher or principal by volunteering.
  • Encourage educators by sending affirming notes or treats delivered to teacher's lounge.

SHARE:

  • Start a community Release Time program or After School Program.
  • Give educators Christian based matreials that are legally appropriate to use in the classroom.
  • Invite your child's educators to your church for a specific event such as a Christmas program, children's choir performance, or Teacher recognition service.
  • hare your family's faith and values at your parent/teacher's conferences.
