Teacher Appreciation Week May 2-6

We salute the powerful impact of educators and support staff on the future of our country. We believe the transformation needed in our nation can happen within our schools and through Christian staff members that are willing to unselfishly serve students while walking out their Christian Faith on a daily basis. A life based on Biblical Truth speaks louder than many sermons.

Thank you for all you do.

We will continue to lift you up in prayer as you serve.

TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL

The Battle

Scripture: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Eph. 6:12

“I hope I don’t have to come to that school, because I don’t know what would happen if I had to come to that school!” shouted an angry mother over the phone.

An incident the day before in my class had included some other student calling Rod a name. Frankly, after three other classes that morning, all of which seemed belligerent, I didn’t even remember the name calling. Knowing the history of this Rod, his behavior was usually worse than the others in his class. This class of 32 fifth graders was to be my special “thorn” all year. The incident was solved when I promised to punish the other child. Yet, from then on, Rod acted like the class hero, trying to control every class he came to.

Sometimes, when in the thick of conflict with a student, we forget who the real enemy is. Once we realize that, the warfare changes. Our weapon is PRAYER. God alone can change a situation filled with the power of the Enemy. In our weakness He is strong. Whether we see great changes, or merely small victories, when we give the situation to God to handle, the battle becomes His instead of ours.
