Teacher Appreciation Week May 2-6

We salute the powerful impact of educators and support staff on the future of our country. We believe the transformation needed in our nation can happen within our schools and through Christian staff members that are willing to unselfishly serve students while walking out their Christian Faith on a daily basis. A life based on Biblical Truth speaks louder than many sermons.

Thank you for all you do.

We will continue to lift you up in prayer as you serve.

TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL

Prayer: Thank you Lord for reminding us about how much we have been given by You. We honor You.

Call to Prayer

Scripture: Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice. Psalm 55:17 NKJV

At the Vesper Hour every evening I would hear the carillon from a nearby steeple playing familiar hymns,
Jesus, Thou Joy of loving hearts, Thou Fount of life, Thou Light of men
From the best bliss that earth imparts, We turn unfilled to Thee again.

I knew the words of these hymns, but doubted that few others did.

For twelve of the twenty-six years that I taught there, I lived near the center of town. I loved this unique, All-America City, with all kinds of people living together in a setting of rural to suburban beauty. However, I also saw the problems and sinful reality of life for many here.

This daily reminder that God desired to dwell among us by His Spirit, led me to pray for the churches and families, as well as for the schools of this town. As in other places all over America, people needed to hear about Christ, to re-order their lives under His direction, and to be released from the power of Satan.

Prayer breaks down barriers of the Enemy, opens doors into homes and hearts, and heals that which is broken. As educators, we have a unique view of the “real world” through our students’ lives. First, ask Him for a God-given love for your town, and then the burden to pray with His authority over all who live there. Ask God for a special reminder for this all important task.
