DIVINE LESSON PLANS

Prayer: Lord, hold us and mold us.  Shape and fashion us in the palms of Your hands each day.  Help us feel and be moved by Your touch in Your classrooms and schools.

Scripture: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Take a good look at all of your new students. No matter what colors, sizes, shapes, conditions, attitudes, aptitudes or behaviors you see, know this: God sees the plans He has for them, not to harm them but to bless and prosper them, to give each one a hope and future. Each one has a promised land. Not only does God have awesome creative lesson plans for them in your classroom this year, He has awesome creative life plans for you as well. You are a part of a divine plan in each child’s life! God has handpicked and placed each student in your classroom! Wow! Your classroom is not an assembly line created by men. Your classroom is unique. It will be custom handcrafted by God himself if you let Him hold and fashion you in the palm of His hand. As Isaiah wrote, “Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” (Isaiah 64:8)

Do I inquire of God while lesson planning to ask Him how He wants me to teach?

Privately pray and ask God for direction prior to developing and writing lesson plans. Ask for and accept His guidance and help.

Only God can possibly give me “awesome creative lesson plans”, because He sure knows I have very little creative bones in me!

Passing this along to many teachers with whom I have shared the CEAI vision but they have not responded. Your words of comfort and wisdom inspired by God should help direct their steps and mine into the battlefield of the 2016-17 school year. In my retirement years I still supervise many on-line student teachers and see many wonderful classroom teachers and students. God’s plans are always present and continually working even in these difficult anti-Christian times.
