RICH

Prayer: Dear Lord, I want to live this day in eager anticipation for all You have called me to do. I praise Your name for Your goodness to me. Amen.

Scripture: I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints and his incomparably great power for us who believe. Eph 1:18-19a NIV

I am sure today’s attribute caught your attention. When I went to my father and told him I wanted to become a teacher, he said, “that’s great, that’s noble, but you know you are going to be poor all of your life.”

In the original text, the word “hope” meant “eager anticipation.” Reread today’s verse replacing “hope” with “eager anticipation.” God called you to be an educator. He called you with eager anticipation and expectations.

Many people go through life working themselves to death “for the Lord” and are never fulfilled. Why? Because they have not stopped to listen to the calling that God eagerly anticipates for them. Being obedient to His plans guarantees us “the riches of his glorious inheritance and His great power to work for us and with us.” I can’t think of any earthly riches that could possibly compare with what God promises us here.

What do you hope for? What do you eagerly anticipate? What great expectation do you have for you students, school and for yourself? Talk it over with God; I know He has some great ones!
