BUSY BEE
January 17, 2020

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please forgive me if I lose sight of the bigger picture of giving You glory at all times. Please don’t allow me to be so busy with work that I forget who I’m working for.

Scripture: And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.  But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42 NKJV

We’re always moving. We’re always running about to do an errand of some kind. Rush. Rush. Rush. Luke 10 speaks of how busy Martha was serving and making sure the house was presentable. She was so busy working that she lost sight of who she was working for.
Jesus was literally in her living room and she was missing what He had to say!

Could you imagine Jesus visiting your home and you’re so busy picking up toys and moving the pile of ungraded papers off the dining table that you ignore Him? That is so sad, but it happens. We get so caught up in the business of life that we forget the creator of life.

I encourage you to be more like Mary, Martha’s sister, and sit at Jesus’s feet. Take in everything He has to offer. Welcome Him into your heart and life.
