THE ONE WHO SUSTAINS US
January 23, 2020

Prayer: Father, thank you for the way you sustain me and uphold me. Teach me to be like you as I seek to create a space of safety and love for the students you have entrusted to me this year.

Scripture: Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed. Uphold me, and I will be delivered; I will always have regard for your decrees. Psalm 119:116-117 NIV

Do you think your students feel safe in your classroom? One of the main charges we have as educators is to create a safe learning environment for the children. In our times, safety is paramount. Creating a safe place for students in your classroom begins on your knees. It is the recognition that God is the One Who sustains us and holds us up. As we act as His agents in the field, one of our primary assignments is to keep His children safe. Do they feel loved? Do they feel comfortable to express themselves? Are they able to learn? All these questions are ongoing and require daily reflection. Lift these requests up to the ultimate Commander-in-Chief and Director of Security.
