COMPASSION
February 11, 2020
Prayer: Father, thank you for the compassion you daily extend toward me. Help me as I seek to extend that same compassion to my students today. Give me your grace when my patience runs out.

Scripture: As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. Psalm 103:13 NIV

Our role as Christ-follower is to be like Him. We have the awesome calling to be His ears and eyes and a gentle touch in our schools. One of His most precious attributes is compassion.
He is tender and sympathetic and there is never any doubt that He will be faithful. How is our compassionate meter in the classroom? Does it rise high when our students are acting up?
Is it possible that many of their disrespectful ways are manifested because they are hurting and it really has nothing to do with us? Try a little compassion the next time you need to discipline a student. Take them outside your door and speak to them with grace and let Jesus with skin on handle the confrontation.

Quote for the Day: Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible. Tony Robbins
