CALLED BY GOD TO BE HIS OWN

Prayer: We are grateful, Dear Lord, that You call us Your own.
Scripture. . .you who have been called by God to be His own holy people. He made you holy by means of Christ Jesus, just as He did all Christians everywhere—whoever calls upon the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and theirs. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you His grace and peace.
1 Cor. 1:1-3 NLT
I think it is so very precious that you and I are ‘called’ by God. He personally attracted each one of us into His presence. He inserted within us the ability to deny self and trust in Christ for salvation and eternal life with God. He then gives us the daily authority to pray for increasing power over evil, strength to resist sin, authority to pray for others in need, and the living presence of His Holy Spirit to constantly remind us and teach us what we need to know moment by moment each day as ‘holy people.’
Who are we with such privilege? All of those who ‘call upon the name of Jesus Christ. . .’
On top of all this, there is the amazing promise that the Lord Jesus will give you and me ‘His grace and peace!” Is that awesome or what?! Now THAT should really brighten up this day for you.
