MAKING THE MOST OF IT
February 5, 2020

Prayer: Lord, I pray that my faith in you is always strong and never failing. Help me to see the bigger picture and not be distracted with smaller things. I am grateful that nothing is impossible for you. In Jesus’s name, amen.

Scripture: And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. John 6:11 NKJV

We have all been faced with challenges in our personal lives and careers. How we respond during these challenges is important. When it looks like you are stuck between a rock and a hard place, you should climb upon that rock and stand firmly. Jesus is our rock. Our faith should be built on Jesus, who is strong and solid. Trials, tests, and challenges make us stronger if we don’t give up. That’s why Proverbs 24:10 NKJV states, “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.” The Word of God also declares in Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct your paths.” God is with us when we’re faced with trouble. He is our deliverer. We can experience His awesome power if we just don’t fold under pressure.

Jesus and the disciples were faced with the challenge of feeding over five thousand people with only five loaves of bread and two fish. Jesus did not fret or lose His composure. He simply made the most of the situation. He prayed a blessing over the food (John 6:11) and distributed it to the disciples who in turn gave it to the people. Another miracle happened! Jesus is Jehovah Jireh, our provider. He provided more than enough food for the people. There were even leftovers!

In conclusion it’s our job to keep the faith and not budge but stand firm on the Word of God. It is then that we will see His hand at work in our situation. Be strong in the Lord my fellow teachers!
