MULTIPLE HATS
April 20, 2020

Prayer: Lord, You are everything to me. Thank you for giving me strength and peace. Help me to continue to love others and let your light shine through me. In Jesus’s name, amen.

Scripture: For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 NKJV

I really don’t believe that any of you solely teach every day. We wear multiple hats. Teaching is just one of our hats. If we see our students having a difficult time with friends or at home, we put on our counselor hat. If a student scrapes a knee at recess, we put on our nurse hat. If we’re helping to resolve a conflict, we put on our mediator hat. During arrival and dismissal times, we put on our transportation monitor hats.

Jesus also wears many hats. He is a healer, deliverer, redeemer, counselor, provider, among an endless list of awesome characteristics. With that being said, Jesus knows what it is like to multitask. There is not anything about us that He doesn’t understand. Jesus even took a nap when He was tired. “And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.” (Matthew 8:24 NKJV)

It’s encouraging to know that our Savior set a beautiful example of multitasking. Let’s keep pushing forward and doing what we do best. God gives us strength. “The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.” (Psalms 28:7 NKJV)
