Prayer: To hear You say that I did a good job is all I live for.  Please help me today.  Amen.

Scripture: Lord, grant us peace; for all we have and are has come from you.  Isaiah 26:12 TLB

The end of the year; so longed for is finally here. There will be no lunch tickets, no bells to signal the beginning and end of our days, no lining up, any chalk dust for several weeks, and it feels great!

But this day is bittersweet!  We have developed life-changing relationships with these dear children, and that it has been worth the work.  Instead, we celebrate. Though tears sometimes fall as we say our last good-byes, we all feel sweet relief—teachers and students alike.

If we have labored faithfully with the Lord’s pleasure in mind, He will reward us. We must truthfully admit that daily we have accepted help from His hand, sometimes consciously, other times without being aware of His very real presence and support. As you reflect on this school year, both good times and bad, prayerfully thank God for all He has done, and allow Him to say “Well, done” to you. Sweet rest is your reward. Enjoy it and use it to prepare yourself for busy days ahead.
