BE FILLED WITH POWER FROM GOD TODAY
September 18, 2020

Prayer: Let us be in awe of You, O Lord, today.  You are so much bigger than our difficulties and may we remember to praise and adore You.  Amen.

Scripture: I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will give you mighty inner strength through His Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in Him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and the power that comes from God. Eph. 3:16-19 NLT

Paul’s prayer is a good one and I am lifting it heavenward for you who read these words this day. Whatever you must face today, God has what you need. He has that mighty inner strength that will cause you to remain steadfast in Christ’s love and grace.

When Christ is increasingly ‘at home in your heart’ day after day, then life gets better and better. Even while facing difficulties and challenges, the joys go deeper and the peace becomes sweeter. After a while you begin to receive from God’s Spirit within you, tiny glimpses of just how incomprehensibly big God’s love is. However large you can imagine it– it is infinitely larger.

As you receive these glimpses of God’s awesome love, something happens within you. Life begins to expand within you. Power to engage God’s love, share God’s peace, and express God’s joy begins to expand in your life with enriched meaning. This is the life Christ died to give you now on earth. And it is merely a small shadow of the wonder awaiting us in eternity where we reign with Christ.

May the Spirit of God exercise all that these scriptures say as you read the words this day.

“Lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other’s faults because of your love. Always keep yourselves united with the Holy Spirit and bind yourselves together with peace.” Ephesians 4:1-3 NLT
