TAKE A NUMBER

Prayer: Thank you Lord for hearing our voice when we pray.

Scripture: I love the LORD, because He hears my voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live. Ps. 116:1-2   NAS

We had problems—again. Several of us in the department taught at this school, and we all shared frustrations. As for me, not only did I find the children unruly, but the schedule I followed forced me to teach in two different classrooms. On top of that, I shared textbooks with another teacher who taught at the same time as I. Then recently, vandals broke in and stole the stereo equipment for one of the classrooms. The turntable in the other room didn’t work. These necessary items for teaching music, which we used nearly every class period, had to be replaced. We felt we needed to meet with the principal.

The whole department, at great inconvenience to us, scheduled a meeting with her that we could all attend. When we arrived, she informed us that she couldn’t stay because something had come up. And so it went for much of the year in that school. In contrast, at another school where I taught, the principal usually would become available when faculty members needed her. If you could find her, you could talk to her!

Isn’t it good that God always makes Himself available to us?  He waits for us to call on Him, and His presence stays with us at all times. Praise Him today, and call upon Him for He waits for us. When no one else can be found to help, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”.  Ps 46:1 NAS.

This morning some fellow teachers were sharing their anxiety over the school year and how they felt that they were not giving their utmost to the students working from school remotely (currently we are doing a hybrid model). I waited until they were done, closed the teacher’s workroom door, and told them we obviously needed to pray. Then I come to open my email and this is what I saw. There are NO coincidences. Thank you, Jesus!!
