A TRIBUTE
November 18, 2020

Prayer: Oh Lord, I am signing up for duty again today, to be one of Your soldiers on the front line. I know You are with me. Thank You. Amen.

Scripture: For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but are mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. II Corinthians 10:3-4

Do you always remember that we are engaged in a battle? It is only natural to forget once in a while. Then God allows something to shatter the calm and pierce the complacency that we can allow ourselves to slip into. Sometimes the battle is fierce and we grow weary. To the tired soldier, I speak encouragement. Though you may forget that you’re special, God remembers.

A TRIBUTE by Clara Ruffin (1998 National Educator of the Year)

Atten-HUT! Stand erect! Your shoulders must not droop.
March straight ahead with dignity; you form a special troop.

It’s easy to forget sometimes, in the heat of the battle fray,
Because you think it’s just routine, the good you do each day.

Straighten that spine-lift that chin! You’re high up in the ranks.
I stand as I applaud your work and give these heartfelt thanks.
