WHO DO YOU BEGRUDGE?
September 20, 2021

Prayer: Oh Lord! Please help us to see and forsake any grudges. We want to be Your light, shining brightly, right here, where You have put us. Amen.

Scriptures: Lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other’s faults because of your love. Always keep yourselves united with the Holy Spirit and bind yourselves together with peace. Ephesians 5:1-3 NLT

…forgive us our sin, just as we forgive those who have sinned against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation. Luke 11:4 NLT

Are you holding a grudge against someone? How hard it is to let go of things that others have done to us causing us hurt or problems. At those times, I always come back to this: God COULD have prevented it. But He permitted it to happen to me for His greater will and my greater development. He is a loving father to His children so we know that nothing can happen to us that is not according to His plan. Thus our reasons for holding grudges are without basis. When I am smoldering toward someone, it usually means that I am more concerned about ME than about others. At those times I must pray and turn it over to God. I pray this will be a day of release for all those old grudges. Seek God’s love to replace them as you anticipate interacting with those persons or speaking about them to others. This, too, requires supernatural power. It is available for the asking.

This is a very timely prayer. It is easy in these times to hold grudges. Thank you for this encouragement.
