HEARING FROM GOD AND RESPONDING

Prayer: Please help us to listen to You today, Lord, and follow. Amen
Scripture: My sheep recognize My voice; I know them, and they follow Me I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them away from Me, for My Father has given them to Me, and He is more powerful than anyone else. So no one can take them from Me. John 10:27-29 NLT
Such a joyous promise is recorded by the Apostle John, of the words of Jesus. In it we see many confirmations. First we recognize that by our faith we will be able to recognize and discern the voice of the Lord among the many voices calling out to us. Also, we realize how completely and individually we are known by our Shepherd — nothing about us surprises Him. How comforting it is to know that we are protected by His hand: by the might of the One who created everything — we are secure in His love and provision.
Today the Lord will ensure that I hear Him, if only I will listen for Him and respond. I pray this day is one in which you know you are hearing from God about how to serve Him by loving others.
“Lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other’s faults because of your love. Always keep yourselves united with the Holy Spirit and bind yourselves together with peace.” Ephesians 4:1-3 NLT
