FINISH STRONG
June 02, 2022

Prayer: Dear Lord, Please help me where I am weak, to honor Your name in my life. Finish all Your good work in my students this year. Please draw each one to know Jesus as their Savior. I am trusting You, Lord. Thank You. Amen

Scripture: (Jesus prayed) “I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.” John 17:4 NAS

Christ knew His days on earth were drawing to an end. God had sent Him here with specific tasks, an exact purpose and now, having accomplished His work, Christ was preparing for a strong finish.

Your school days are drawing to an end. Have you accomplished the work God has given you? Look back over the past months and consider what you have accomplished this year. Remember, there is a difference between activity and accomplishment. I pray that your time was spent wisely and that as you count down the days to a well deserved break, you are also preparing for a strong finish.

Are you on track or scrambling to get everything done that is required? Are these last days fun or a nightmare? For some of you the answer might be “both” depending on the moment. The worst days were yet to come for Jesus. His suffering had only begun at this point. He knew what He had to do and did it for you. Maybe there is something you still need to do, something hard or even painful, but you know that it must be done.

If you are in a prayer group, I pray that you have built up trust enough to share very openly and honestly with one another. There is no time to lose, and you are not meeting to perform and conform.

How can you pray for one another over these last days? The emotion of saying goodbye, the exhaustion, the worry over what you did not get done, the guilt that you heap on yourself when you feel you have failed in some way, the eagerness to be done and having trouble, like your students, staying focused and getting done are all common end of year prayer needs for teachers. How can we pray for you?

My prayer for you is that you would finish strong.
