LEFT CLICK, SAVE
June 13, 2022

Prayer: Lord may we never forget the mission to reach the unsaved. Amen

Scripture: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved. Acts 16:31 NKJV

Much of my work entails a necessary relationship with technology. It comes with the territory. Not that I mind, except when I forget to save the result of long hours of planning and writing. The worst part of it all is when I’m tired and my eyes are propped open with toothpicks feeling gritty and dry from way too much time staring at a screen.

All I have to do is take the time to left-click and save periodically, and I would never even have to think about it. Being human, being me, I get in a hurry, thinking about other things that need to be done. Before I realize what I’ve done, I’ve clicked the wrong button and away goes the time spent at the keyboard, the thoughts that were so carefully constructed, and my sanity. It’s hair pulling time.

Jesus didn’t have a computer as we know computers today. Yet, His mission was to reach out, not to a keyboard but to human flesh, and save the spirit and soul inside. He never forgot His mission. He even told His disciples to go into all the world and save the lost.  He never forgot to save.

There are times at school when I make myself get up away from the computer and walk to classrooms and visit with children, hear their laughter, bathe in their smiles and help where I can. Jesus loved children. His arms opened wide for all to come to him: the good, the bad, and the ugly. He didn’t have to left-click and save. He was and still is the Save Button, the Savior of the world. All the children had to do was press into His arms.

As I type this, I too want to press into His saving grace. I can deal with technology at the appropriate time. I want Jesus all the time.

That was really good and very relatable.

A person with a relationship with Jesus working in a school, any school, is a blessed, blessed thing. Thank You, Lord, for Sharon’s dedication first to You, and then to her school family. Sharon, I will be praying for your ministry of service to our most vulnerable population…His children. We are living in antithetical times. With His love, Anne
