HEARING
August 9, 2022

Prayer: Lord, thank You for hearing me when I cry to you. Please show me who around me needs for me to hear them today. Amen.

Scripture: The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cry. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. Psalms 34:15 &17 NIV

In a recent survey, children stated that they wanted to talk to parents and teachers about important issues and decisions, but felt no one was listening to them. We’ve all felt that way before. Have you ever tried to talk to someone who finishes your sentences for you, or voices solutions to your problems before you ever state them? How can we be sure to hear what those around us are saying? How can we let them know that we want to hear what they have to say?

How can each of us carry out the attribute of hearing in our daily environment (classroom, hallways, meetings, cafeteria, office, etc.)?

Thank you for this. We are finally moving into our portables (after a one-year delay and teaching in booths in the Sanctuary for the entire year) and got the news last night that today we must remove our microwaves and mini-fridges and unplug and put away any extension cords so the final inspection to get our occupancy permits can be held. Of course, this is frustrating, but I know it’s just jumping through another hoop (and there have been dozens) in the process of getting the necessary permits. I also know some of my co-workers will verbalize their frustration. I will endeavor to listen with compassion and patience. Prayers would be appreciated.
