BE LIFTED OUT OF THE PIT
March 27, 2018

Prayer:  Oh Lord, I thank You for the legacy of Corrie ten Boom.  Because she knew You to be deeper than the deepest pit, I am encouraged, again, to let You lift me out of any deep troubles of my soul today.  I will choose to praise you!  Amen.

Scripture: “Lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other’s faults because of your love. Always keep yourselves united with the Holy Spirit and bind yourselves together with peace.” Ephesians 4:1-3 NLT

He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. Psalm 40:2NLT Do you ever get ‘mired down,’ so to speak, the muddy details of conflict and mistrust? Do you find yourself in a constant struggle to pursue dreams and hopes?

The famed Corrie ten Boom, was imprisoned by Nazis during World War II for protecting Jews. She suffered mightily at their hands, but tells of, yet, leading one of her former captors to Christ, disregarding how she was treated. She wrote “No matter how deep the pit, God is still deeper.”How true this is! When you find yourself stuck in deep mud, pray, and realize God is there and in control. He’s willing to encourage your heart right where you are if you will permit it.

I pray your day will be one of overcoming whatever might be dragging your spirit down, and lifting you up into the heights of God’s Holiness.
