LET FREEDOM RING
May 3, 2018

Prayer: Oh Lord!  We thank You and praise You for the freedom to pray in this nation.  We thank You that our President has proclaimed this day for prayer. We ask You to give our President wisdom every day. Thank You, Lord. Amen.

Scripture: It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1 NIV

Today is the National Day of Prayer. Remember to pray for each branch of the United States government, each cabinet position and leader, the branches of the military, and all U.S. citizens.

Because of Christ we have been given freedom – freedom from the bondage of doing and doing and doing to try to please God. We still need the boundaries of the law, but obeying the laws will not give us eternal life. Only by grace, through faith, have we been saved.

Summer break is almost here. Please mark time everyday to pray, read the Bible and rest. God says, “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:30 If your yoke is heavy, you have extra baggage that you need to shed. Let freedom ring! Let others see through your life how it feels to be free in Christ.

Do we exhibit the freedom we have in Christ or do non-Christians see Christianity as a list of “no-no’s,” a list of what we cannot do? Do we show others how much we enjoy our relationship with Christ or do they see our church attendance and service as bondage? Have we expressed that to them in some way? How can we let freedom ring?
