Prayer: Oh Lord! We long to be refreshing to our school like dew is refreshing to our world. We ask You to be with us today. Thank You very much! Amen.
Scripture: The remnant of Jacob will be in the midst of many peoples like dew from the Lord, like showers on the grass. Micah 5:7a NIV
It was Tuesday at 8:15, before the first bell rang. We had a date. Three of us always tried to be there. Oh, there were others from time to time, and we didn’t bar anyone from the room. We met quietly and prayed, not announcing what we were doing, but the whole school knew. It was short and sweet, this asking the Lord to bless our school, our principal, our administrators, our families, and sick and sorrowing staff members. It was surprising how often staff members that didn’t attend our little meeting asked us to pray for them or a loved one.
I have to believe that we were like the dew in that place. When we prayed together we were asking the dew from the Lord to invade our school. When we lived our ordinary lives in the midst of the school staff and among the parents, we were in some way bringing the Lord’s blessing there.
What do you do that spreads abroad the Lord’s blessing in your school? It may be that you are quietly doing a small thing, but be encouraged; you are refreshing others and sharing the love of Christ everywhere.
