SORROW
April 9, 2020

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the way you bring joy that is not dependent on what’s going on around me. Show me what it looks like to pursue you in the midst of sorrow and show your joy to my students, especially those dealing with loss, sorrow, or depression.

Scripture: You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.
Psalm 30:11 NIV

Be comforted dear one who has sorrow. How do our non-Christian friends and students ever deal with sorrow without the Lord? For with the Lord we have His never-ending love and comfort. He turns sorrow into gladness! Trust Him, He can help anyone who believes He can change all things. How do we help our students with great sorrow? It’s a very difficult time to be an educator when our students and colleagues are experiencing great sorrow. We know that we must be Jesus to them. Pray for them. Give them comfort. Listen to them and most of all turn their sorrow over to God that He may turn it into dancing. It’s His promise to those who believe.

Quote for the Day: The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision. Helen Keller
