LORD! I CAN’T SLEEP!
November 04, 2020

Prayer: Dear Lord, I ask You to guide me in my thinking. Please help me to stay peaceful and
stop frenzied thoughts. Please help me to know about resting and how not to waste time
on useless things. Thank You. I pray these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Scripture: I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
Psalm 4:8 NIV

Lord! I can’t sleep! My mind is going 500 miles an hour, whirring with things I have to do. I have so many deadlines, papers to grade, meetings to schedule, and IEP’s to write! I can’t slow down! Help me Lord!

Your Word said that You give Your beloved sleep. I’m Your beloved. When I lie down to sleep tonight, please let my sleep be sweet. Please lead me beside Your still waters. Please restore my soul. Please give Me Your assurance that I’m pleasing you. Please show me, give me some encouragement, send a Word or a song or a Scripture that makes me know that what I am doing is the right thing. Slow me down, Lord. Not by some disease or car accident! Slow me down Lord by depositing Your peace in me. Thank You, Lord. I will sleep tonight and my sleep will be sweet.

Other Scriptures to meditate on:
Psalm 4:8
Psalm 127:2
Jeremiah 31:26

    How timely…….In His Time…….
I awoke at 3 am this morning worrying about so many things that I cannot fix. Just reading this calmed my heart and I have printed it out to give to our chapter members of “Teachers Who Pray” at our school. We are all feeling so overwhelmed and we have had 3 teachers resign in the past week due to the stress of going back 5 days a week, face to face. Thank you……

I often need to remember that God Himself is love, and in His presence is fullness of joy and true peace. Let us all remember to seek time in God’s presence over any gift He can bring us, because it is enjoying His presence and in worshipping Him that fills our need for peace, whether it’s between Zoom classes or during recess.

Thanks for that reminder that we can rest in God no matter what circumstances we may face or deadlines we need to make, we can always have the peace of God if we seek his face.
