REST IN HIM
December 18, 2020

Prayer: Father I thank you that in your presence there is rest. Help me to take time to truly rest in you, trusting that you will take care of what I am stressed about and fight for me. Amen.

Scripture: Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2 NIV

There is rest in the shadow of the Lord. I wonder if you rest. Do you take dedicated time to rest from the never-ending school work? Do you take time to stay off your devices? Do you take time to read the Word and dwell in His presence? If not, you are missing out on one of the greatest benefits of being a child of God. Begin with a small time period. Increase your rest time and place boundaries around it. Let nothing interfere with your Sabbath time with God. He designed rest as one of the essential benefits to your Christian walk. He can be heard a lot better when all the distractions are laid aside. Trust Him and rest in Him.

Quote for the Day: “Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” Theodore Roosevelt

Very peaceful devotional today. Thank you.!! God Bless!! May we all find peace this Christmas Season and take time to focus on the real reason for the season!! I don’t know about you, but I am finding it harder and harder to find Jesus in Christmas. I went to Lowe’s to buy a Nativity Scene only to be told they didn’t get any in this year. With all the channels on Comcast, I can’t find one Christmas show devoted to our Lord Jesus. It’s so important for all of us to continue to pray each and every day. Thank you again for your time and devotional this morning!!
